Uses an automatic focus on the Z-axis.

1. Laser Module Elevation Operation:

  • The laser module’s elevation device will move downward to allow the laser probe to approach the engraving surface.

2. Probe Contact and Z-Axis Limit Switch:

  • When the probe touches the engraving surface, the Z-axis limit switch is triggered, which is an automatic detection mechanism to ensure that the laser module does not descend too low.

3. Laser Module Returns to Pre-set Height:

  • After the limit switch is triggered, the laser module will automatically move upward to the elevation height preset by the user in the software.

4. Auto Focus Completion:

  • Once the elevation height is set, the machine will automatically complete the focusing process to ensure a constant distance between the laser module and the engraving surface.

5. Relationship between Elevation Height and Focal Length:

  • For example, if the elevation height is set to 7mm, when the laser module moves upward by 7mm, the focal length (i.e., the distance from the laser module to the engraving surface) will be set to 50mm.

6. Importance of Focal Length Setting:

  • Correct focal length setting is crucial for the quality of laser engraving and cutting, affecting the concentration of laser energy and the processing effect.

7. Software Settings:

  • Users need to correctly set the elevation height in the control software of the laser engraving machine to ensure that the laser module can focus correctly on different materials and thicknesses.

No Response After Powering On the Machine, How to Handle It?

Troubleshooting Steps for 3D Printer Power-On Issues

1. Check Power Connection

  • Ensure the power cord is properly connected to the printer and that the power outlet is functioning correctly.
  • Try connecting the power cord to a different outlet to rule out the possibility of a power supply issue.

2. Check Power Switch

  • Confirm that the power switch is turned on.
  • If the boat switch light is on but the power indicator light is not, it may be due to incorrect wiring of the power lines or incorrect wiring of the boat switch, preventing power from being supplied. It is necessary to recheck and ensure the wiring is correct.
  • If the wiring is correct but the power indicator light is still not on, it may be that the power supply unit itself is faulty.

3. Check the Boat Switch

  • If the boat switch light is not on, it may be due to a blown fuse.
  • Check if the fuse has blown and consider replacing it with a spare fuse.

4. Check the Control Board

  • If possible, open the printer casing and carefully inspect the control board for any signs of damage or burnout.
  • If damage to the control board is found, it may be necessary to repair or replace it.
Extruder Clogging Issue

1. Material Clogging Due to High Printer Chamber Temperature

  • Reduce the Bed Temperature: Lower the bed temperature appropriately to prevent the material from overheating and becoming too soft.
  • Use Heat-Resistant Materials: Opt for filaments with a higher heat deflection temperature, such as PLA or PETG.
  • Enhance Cooling: If the printer is equipped with an enclosure kit, open the front door or top cover during printing to assist with heat dissipation.

2. Extrusion Gear Malfunction Causing Poor Extrusion

  • Test the Nozzle: Set the nozzle temperature to 240°C, insert PLA filament, and press the extrude button. Observe the extrusion of the filament. If the filament falls vertically smoothly and the strand is long and smooth, the nozzle and extrusion gear are functioning properly. On the contrary, if the strand is short and rough, it may indicate a narrow nozzle channel or extrusion gear malfunction.
  • Inspect the Nozzle and Extruder: Unscrew the nozzle, set the nozzle temperature to 220°C, and manually push in PLA filament. If the filament extrudes smoothly, the nozzle channel is clear; inspect the extruder gear for wear or blockages by foreign objects and replace or clean as needed.

3. Clogging Caused by Soft Filament

  • Avoid Soft Filaments: Certain soft filaments, such as TPU 85A or damp PVA, can be flattened by the extruder gears, leading to clogging. Avoid using these types of filaments for printing.

4. Filament Diameter Variation

  • Check Filament Diameter: Filament may become thicker locally after bending or compression, or thinner due to extruder wheel wear, affecting normal extrusion. Remove the filament, trim off the parts with abnormal diameter, and then proceed with printing.
How to Handle a Faulty or Noisy Fan in the Machine?

Operational Steps to Resolve 3D Printer Fan Noise Issues

1: Inspect the Nozzle and Print Bed

  • First, inspect the printer’s nozzle and print bed to ensure both surfaces are clean, without any plastic residue or debris.

2: Prepare an A4 Paper

  • With the nozzle and heated bed at room temperature, prepare an A4 paper for calibration.

3: Initiate Z-Axis Offset Calibration

  • Click on the “Z-Axis Offset Calibration” option on the screen to prepare for calibration.

4: Perform Calibration

  • Place the A4 paper between the nozzle and the print bed.
  • Move the print bed up and down to adjust the Z-axis height.
  • Stop when there is a slight friction resistance felt between the paper and the nozzle as well as the print bed.

5: Determine and Record the Z-Axis Offset Value

  • Accept the current Z-axis height value; this value is the calibrated Z-axis offset obtained through calibration.

6: Apply the Calibration Value

  • Apply the obtained Z-axis offset value to the printer settings to ensure the precision of the first layer print.

By following these steps, you can ensure that your 3D printer’s Z-axis is accurately calibrated, leading to improved print quality and adhesion for the first layer of your prints.
